Development and public services top priority in Tando Adam: Taluka Chairman
Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) Taluka Chairman Tando Adam, Ghulam Murtaza Junejo, has said that development of the city and provision of quality civic facilities to citizens remain the top priority of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government.
Speaking to journalists, he said that under the clear directives of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the municipal administration of Tando Adam is utilising all available resources to ensure sustainable development, improved infrastructure and better living conditions for residents.
He said that several major development schemes were completed across the city during 2025. These include installation of paver blocks from Agha Khan Laboratory to Sindh Bank, Black Brown Bakery to Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Chowk on Hyderabad Road, National Bank to Tando Allahyar Road, Islamic Bank to Shah Abdul Latif Library Road, Jaman Shah Dargah to Sati Para, and from Dr Saud Mari to Khatti Mosque. He added that paver block work from Shahdadpur Road to Thaheeme Colony and side entry gates at Gulshan-e-Siddiqui Park had also been completed.
The taluka chairman said construction work on the municipal office building was progressing at a fast pace, while plantation and beautification work had been carried out on footpaths at all entry points of the city. He further said that heavy machinery had been installed at the Tando Allahyar Road disposal site and New City disposal to improve drainage and sanitation services.
Highlighting cleanliness measures, Mr Junejo said that mechanical brush machines were being used daily to clean all major roads, while garbage collection from all localities was being ensured through Qingqi loaders and tractor-trolleys.
He said that last year each councillor was provided Rs5 million for development work in their respective wards, which had been increased to Rs10 million this year to further accelerate local-level development.
Mr Junejo appealed to citizens to cooperate with the municipal administration by maintaining cleanliness, disposing of waste at designated points and safeguarding public property. He said public cooperation was essential for sustainable urban development and assured that the municipal administration remained committed to addressing civic issues on a priority basis.
