Floodlights inaugurated at Tando Adam Sports Complex on Quaid-i-Azam’s birth anniversary

Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) Floodlights were inaugurated at the football ground of the Tando Adam Sports Complex on the birth anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, marking a significant step towards promoting sports activities in the city. The inauguration ceremony also featured an exhibition football match between teams from Tando Adam and Sanghar.

Former senator and ex-provincial minister Malik Imamuddin Shouqeen was the chief guest at the event. Assistant Commissioner Tando Adam Hunain Tariq Shahani, Chairman Municipal Committee Ghulam Murtaza Junejo, Tando Adam Bar Association President Advocate Abdullah Khattak, Anjuman-i-Tajran President Iqbal Bhatti, Malik Zubair Daima and other notable figures, along with players and a large number of citizens, attended the ceremony.

The exhibition match ended in a draw at the end of regular time and was decided on penalty kicks, in which the Sanghar team emerged victorious by 5–4. Malik Imamuddin Shouqeen awarded Rs10,000 to the winning team and Rs7,000 to the runners-up, and also announced a grant of Rs50,000 for further improvement of the football ground.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said that Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had always emphasised discipline, integrity and positive engagement for the youth. He added that sports play a vital role in the physical and mental development of young people and help protect society from drugs, violence and other negative tendencies.

He noted that the youth of Tando Adam possess immense potential and stressed the need to provide them with better sports facilities. The installation of floodlights, he said, would enable sports activities to continue at night and encourage greater participation of young people in healthy pursuits. He assured continued support for the promotion of sports in Tando Adam.
