Jamaat-e-Islami Demands Reduction in Electricity Prices
Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leader Syed Arifullah Saifi has urged the government to immediately reduce electricity prices by utilizing the billions saved from the termination of IPP (Independent Power Producers) agreements. He made this demand while addressing a gathering of party workers at the JI center in Tando Adam.
Syed Arifullah stated that the increase in electricity bills and prolonged load-shedding have severely impacted businesses and made life unbearable for the public. He criticized the government for failing to use the benefits of IPP agreement terminations to provide relief to the people.
He announced that, following the call of JI Pakistan Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, a massive protest will be held on Friday, January 17, after Asr prayers in front of the Press Club, demanding a reduction in electricity prices and relief for the public. He appealed to the people to actively participate in the protest to claim their rights from the oppressive rulers.
The event was attended by senior JI leaders, including Muhammad Tufail, Vice Ameer Abdul Ghafoor Ansari, Haji Noor Hassan, Secretary Abdul Sattar Ansari, Deputy Secretary Abdul Rehman Mansoori, Haji Rasheed, Professor Ahmed Bilal Ghori, Professor Ahmed Jibran Ghori, and Tando Adam Jamiat Nazim Muhammad Sajid Qureshi, along with a large number of party workers.
