Five suspects of inter-provincial dacoit gang arrested after police encounter in Tando Adam


Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) Police claimed to have busted an inter-provincial dacoit gang and arrested five suspects, including two in an injured condition, after an encounter in Tando Adam.


According to police, SHO Tando Adam, Mohammad Hanif Mehr, along with his team, was on routine patrol when they spotted five armed suspects near Habib Khan Mari Mor, allegedly planning a robbery. When signalled to surrender, the suspects opened fire on the police, prompting a retaliatory response.


After a brief exchange of fire, two suspects Amir alias Tando Malik and Sajjad alias Raja Rahoo were arrested in an injured condition, and two TT pistols were recovered from their possession.


Police said that three other members of the gang Usman Sheikh, Babar Ali Gujar and Zeeshan alias Shan Sheikh were also apprehended, and three more TT pistols were seized from them.


A case (FIR No. 87/2026) has been registered under Sections 324, 353, 399, 402 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code.


Police further said that three snatched mobile phones and a motorcycle were recovered from the suspects, linked to earlier cases (FIR No. 42/2026 and FIR No. 314/2025).


Officials added that five separate cases have also been registered against the suspects for illegal possession of weapons. The gang is believed to have been involved in criminal activities across various districts of Sindh, and efforts are underway to obtain their criminal record from other areas. Further investigations are expected to reveal more details.
