A major irregularity and illegal activity has been uncovered at the Hangorja Food Center in the food department. After visiting the center, Assistant Commissioner Sobho Dero submitted an inspection report to DC Khairpur.
The report revealed that thousands of bags of wheat in the food warehouse have gone bad due to administrative negligence and lack of interest. It was also disclosed that retired food inspectors are still assigned to Hangorja and Sagiyon centers.
The report issued by AC Sobho Dero recommended action against the responsible officials. According to the details, during the visit to the Hangorja Food Center, Assistant Commissioner Sobho Dero Shah Muhammad Chang made significant discoveries. The report stated that out of 50 kg bags, only 10 to 15 kg of wheat was actually available, with a large quantity missing.
It was further revealed that dirt was mixed into the wheat at the center. Clean wheat was blended with dirt and spoiled wheat, which is harmful to human health.
The report also noted that retired Food Inspector Nisar Mehr continues to oversee Hangorja and Sagiyon centers even after retirement, which constitutes illegal duty and a blatant violation of rules.
In the report submitted to DC Khairpur, the Assistant Commissioner recommended a full inquiry by higher authorities and legal action against the responsible officials.
