Fraud Allegations Against Tando Adam Businessman, Residents Urge Action

Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Sand) Local resident Aslam Qureshi held a press conference at Tando Adam Press Club on Tuesday, alleging that Asad Chandriger, head of a fraudulent group, defrauded him and several other city residents of amounts ranging from two to 2.5 crore rupees.

According to Qureshi, in January 2025, Chandriger purchased a Corolla car from him on a five-month installment plan for Rs 35.5 lakh. During resale, Chandriger paid only Rs 10 lakh in cash while issuing a cheque for the remaining Rs 25 lakh, which was not honoured. Qureshi said that Chandriger employed similar fraudulent practices with other residents before fleeing to Hyderabad.

Qureshi stated that he filed a case against Chandriger through the courts, and police later arrested him in Hyderabad. Following a settlement among three lawyers, Chandriger paid a portion of the amount, but was later released on bail. Qureshi said that after his release, Chandriger failed to pay the remaining sum and even filed a false case against him, which the court subsequently dismissed.

He added that Chandriger continues to issue threats and has publicly accused him of charging interest. Qureshi noted that five separate cases have been filed against Chandriger by various citizens and called on local authorities and law enforcement agencies to take strict action against the alleged fraudster. He also urged residents to exercise caution when dealing with such individuals.
