Sindh Government Launches Solar Energy Project to Reduce Electricity Bills
Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) Senator Quratul Ain Marri of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has announced that the Sindh government has initiated a solar energy project following Bilawal Bhutto's directive to provide relief from heavy electricity bills.
Speaking at the Sindh Solar Energy Project ceremony in Jam Nawaz Ali, Senator Marri stated that in the first phase, 120 male and female beneficiaries in Jam Nawaz Ali are being provided with solar panels. She highlighted that this World Bank-supported solar project is crucial for combating the negative impacts of climate change, emphasizing that green energy is the need of the hour.
Senator Marri further revealed that a total of 6,666 households across the district will receive solar panels under this initiative.
The event witnessed the presence of PPP leader Rais Aurangzeb Khan Marri, Deputy Commissioner Sanghar Dr. Imran-ul-Hassan Khawaja, Solar Energy Project officials, NRSP DPO Junaid Bhurgari, Assistant Commissioner Jam Nawaz Ali Deepak Kumar, district officers, local dignitaries, and a large number of citizens. Participants praised the Sindh government’s efforts toward promoting sustainable energy solutions.
