Sindh employees’ strike continues in District Sanghar protest planned at Bilawal House

Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) The province-wide strike called by the Sindh Employees Alliance entered its third consecutive day on Thursday, with government offices, schools, hospitals, and other provincial departments in Sanghar District remaining shut.

The complete closure of provincial institutions paralysed routine operations. At  Hospitals, thousands of patients were left without medical care, while educational activities came to a halt across schools and colleges. Citizens visiting the revenue and registrar offices faced severe difficulties in obtaining succession certificates, property transfers, and other essential services.

Speaking to the media, representatives of the employees’ organisations said they would not accept the government’s proposed new pension policy “under any circumstances,” rejecting what they described as cuts into employees’ lifetime savings. They also demanded immediate approval of a 70 per cent Disparity Reduction Allowance (DRA) to end widespread unrest among workers.

The alliance leaders warned that if their demands were ignored, they would hold a massive protest outside Bilawal House in Karachi on October 6.
