Sanghar: Fourth Day of Strike by Sindh Government Employees

Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand)The province-wide protest movement launched by the Sindh Employees Alliance continued for the fourth consecutive day on Friday (Sept 26), bringing all government institutions across Sanghar district and its talukas to a complete standstill.

All government boys’ and girls’ primary schools remained shut, while outpatient departments (OPDs) in hospitals were closed, severely affecting patients. Routine work in government offices also came to a halt as buildings, including schools and offices, remained locked throughout the day.

Teachers and employees staged demonstrations, raising slogans against the Sindh government’s pension reforms, which they described as a “black law.” They demanded the immediate withdrawal of the notification and urged PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari to intervene in order to end the growing unrest among staff.

President PT Alf Lakhadino Khaskhali, General Secretary GSTA Fazalullah Umrani, Mithal Pinjaro and other Protesters warned that if their demands were not addressed, government employees from across Sindh would march from the Karachi Press Club to Bilawal House on October 6.
