North Karachi Sector 5E Main Link Road Destroyed Due to Flowing Sewerage, Citizens says

Karachi (Staff Reporter) Although the rains have stopped, the problem of flowing sewers remains unresolved in North Karachi Sector 5E, where the main link road has been severely damaged due to sewer overflow. The stagnant sewer water has spread across the road, creating potholes that disrupt daily public traffic. The mosquito population has increased dramatically, leading to the spread of dangerous diseases like malaria, dengue, and diarrhea.

Residents say that no efforts have been made to clean or inspect the blocked sewer lines as neither suction machines nor rodding machines in Block 5 Sector 5E have been deployed. The blockage in the sewer lines has caused sewage water to spill onto the main road, worsening the situation.

Local inhabitants have called on Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab and Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani to urgently instruct the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation, including the Executive Engineer and Sub-Engineer (AEE) of North Karachi Sector 5E, to use suction and rodding machines on Block 5 Main Road and to provide an inspection report. This, they hope, will lead to a swift resolution of the issue and restore normal life in the area.
