Complete shutdown observed in Tando Adam on call of Sindh Employees Alliance
Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) A complete strike was observed in Tando Adam on Tuesday as part of a province-wide protest called by the All Sindh Employees Alliance against pension reforms, the non-payment of benevolent fund, group insurance, DRA and other unresolved demands.
All provincial offices and educational institutions, including New Aligarh Government Degree College, Shah Abdul Latif High School, Jamia Millia, Sir Syed High School, Fatima Jinnah Girls High School and Sindhi Main Primary School, remained closed. The taluka hospital, Assistant commissioner’s office and Mukhtiarkar’s office were also locked.
Following the shutdown, an employees’ rally and protest demonstration was held, led by GSTA leader Fazlullah Umrani, P,T,Alf leader Lakha Dino Khaskheli, Mukhtiarkar Imamuddin Larak, Waseem Channa, Dr Fazal Shah and others.
Addressing the protest, the leaders said that the Sindh government’s recent amendments to the pension policy amounted to “economic murder” of government employees. They added that deductions from lifelong savings of workers would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
The protest leaders demanded that the provincial government immediately withdraw what they called “anti-employee policies,” warning that otherwise the movement would be expanded across the province.
