Charas Recovery Case: Karachi Court Acquits Woman with Honor
Karachi (Reporter): The Additional and Sessions Judge-VI, District West Karachi, has announced the verdict in a narcotic recovery of 12 kg Chars registered under Section 6/9-3(e) of Sindh Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 2024. That the defense counsel, advocate High Court Khalid Hussain Suhag defended his client before the Honorable Trial Court that his client is innocent and there was no any evidence brought on record by prosecution witness against accused regarding purchasing and selling of alleged recovered narcotic substance. Besides that, the only witnesses are policemen, none of whom made a video recording, nor took any photographs of the seizure and arrest. In view of the facts, the recovery of the narcotic substance in question from the possession of accused, has become doubtful and the accused is entitled to the benefit of doubt, hence the present accused, Mst.Zareena wife of Gul Mohammad @ Mohammad Gul is acquitted under section 265-H(i) Cr.PC.
According to the court’s verdict, the prosecution failed to prove the charges against the present accused beyond reasonable doubt. The court observed that the prosecution could not provide the sufficient evidence; therefore, the accused was given the benefit of doubt and acquitted.
Defense counsel Advocate High Court Khalid Hussain Suhag termed the verdict a victory for justice, stated that his client had been falsely implicated in the case. He informed that the case had been registered approximately nine months earlier at Police Station Site-B, Karachi, on the complaint of ASI Riaz Hussain. along with his subordinates during patrolling on spy information arrested the present accused Mst.Zareena wife of Gul Mohammad @ Mohammad Gul from Main Hub River near Burnt Factori SITE-B, near Burnt Factory . During the search, the police claimed to have recovered 12 packets of chars having weight of 12 kilograms, a Techno mobile phone and cash
from her possession.
