Polio Coordinator Reviews Immunisation Arrangements in Sanghar

SANGHAR(Hasnain Ashiq Saand) Provincial Coordinator of the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) for Polio Eradication and Immunisation, Shehryar Memon, visited Sanghar on Thursday and chaired a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Sarah Javed and health department officials to review preparations for upcoming polio campaigns.


Addressing the meeting, Mr Memon appreciated the efforts of the district administration and health staff, stating that due to their hard work the previous polio campaign in Sanghar was conducted successfully. He expressed confidence that even better performance would be achieved in the forthcoming campaign.


He emphasised the need for focused training of polio workers and strict implementation of micro-plans. He directed officials to maintain close coordination with Union Council Medical Officers (UCMOs), ensure full cooperation during the campaign, and provide separate training to newly inducted teams. He categorically stated that leaving any child unvaccinated was a serious offence and would not be tolerated.


Deputy Commissioner Sarah Javed, while speaking on the occasion, said that all possible efforts were being made to further strengthen the national polio eradication campaign. She added that comprehensive training arrangements had been made for staff and lady health workers, while the performance of vaccinators was being closely monitored.


District Health Officer Dr Daulat Jamali briefed the meeting on preparations for the upcoming national polio eradication drive, stating that effective measures were being taken to ensure the campaign’s success and to protect future generations from lifelong disability.


The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner-I Abdul Majeed Zahrani, all assistant commissioners, Provincial N-Stop Dr Shamila Rasool, UNICEF’s provincial representative Dr Azim Khawaja, WHO provincial representative Dr Waheed Kamran, Dr Muhammad Farooq, N-Stop Dr Deedar Khashkheli, EPI Focal Person Dr Murtaza Siyal, Dr Vishnomal, Dr Hina Shabbir, and other health department officials.
