DC Sanghar chairs district meeting on National Action Plan implementation

SANGHAR (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) Deputy Commissioner Sanghar Sarah Javed on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the District Coordination Committee constituted under the National Action Plan (NAP) at her office.

Addressing the meeting, the DC said that, in line with federal and provincial directives, district-level coordination committees have been formed under the chairmanship of deputy commissioners to ensure effective implementation of the NAP. The committee comprises representatives of police, excise department, intelligence agencies, and district heads of food, agriculture, energy, labour, social welfare, women development, Auqaf and Zakat, among other departments.

She said the primary objective of the committee was to curb illegal activities, including the sale and movement of non-custom paid goods. The deputy commissioner reviewed the performance of all departments and sought details of actions taken during the previous month. She directed all concerned departments to submit their reports at the earliest so that a consolidated report could be forwarded to the federal and provincial apex committees.

Highlighting the prevailing security situation, Ms Javed urged all officers to remain in close coordination with the district administration and keep their mobile phones active at all times. She stressed the need for a timely and effective response to misinformation and propaganda to prevent panic and unrest.

The DC further directed committee members to expedite actions in line with the guidelines issued by the provincial apex committee. She also instructed strict action against illegal hoarding of essential commodities and emphasized the need for effective measures to curb drug trafficking in the district.
