DC Sanghar chairs District Coordination Committee meeting on National Action Plan

Deputy Commissioner Sanghar, Sarah Javed, chaired a key meeting of the District Coordination Committee on the National Action Plan (NAP) at the DC Office on Thursday. The session brought together district heads of various departments, including police, excise, intelligence agencies, food, agriculture, energy, labour, social welfare, women development, auqaf and zakat, among others.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Sarah Javed said that the federal and provincial governments have directed the formation of District Coordination Committees, headed by deputy commissioners, to ensure strict implementation of the National Action Plan at the district level. She stated that the primary objective of these committees is to curb illegal activities and prevent the circulation of non-custom-paid goods within the district.

The DC added that the committee will hold monthly meetings to review departmental performance and action taken, after which reports will be forwarded to the federal and provincial apex committees. She instructed all departments to submit their performance reports regularly each month.

During the meeting, the DC reviewed last month’s progress and sought updates from all participating officers. She stressed that in the current national security environment, all officers must remain in close coordination with the district administration and keep their mobile phones switched on at all times. She urged officials to counter false propaganda effectively and promptly to prevent panic and misinformation.

DC Sarah Javed further directed committee members to accelerate actions in line with the instructions issued by the provincial apex committee. She also emphasised strict action against hoarding of essential commodities and called for effective measures to curb drug-related activities in the district.

The meeting was attended by all assistant commissioners, Customs Officer Ali Gohar, Additional Director Social Welfare Muslim Farooq, DSP Sanghar Zahid Ali, Additional Director Labour Ahmaduddin, Assistant Director Women Development Sajjad Sadar, Deputy Director Agriculture Ghulam Qadir Mangrio, Chairman Ushr & Zakat Committee Zulfiqar Chandio, Assistant Director NADRA Shah Nawaz Chachar and other committee members.
