National Action Plan Coordination Meeting Held in Sanghar Under DC Sarah Javed’s Chairmanship

Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sanghar Sarah Javed chaired a meeting of the District Coordination Committee established under the National Action Plan (NAP) at her office on Thursday.

Addressing the session, DC and Chairperson of the Coordination Committee Sarah Javed said that, in line with federal and provincial directives, district-level coordination committees have been constituted under the supervision of deputy commissioners to ensure implementation of the National Action Plan.

The committee includes the heads of police, excise, intelligence agencies, food, agriculture, energy, labor, social welfare, women development, auqaf and zakat departments, along with law enforcement officials.

She said the committee’s mandate is to take coordinated action against illegal petrol pumps, agencies, narcotics dealers, electricity theft, and sale of non-custom-paid goods, as well as to ensure the registration of seminaries (madaris).

The DC instructed the Police and Social Welfare Department to establish Anti-Beggary Units and directed the Child Protection Authority to conduct awareness sessions with police to curb child begging.

She further announced that the committee will meet monthly to review progress and send detailed reports of actions taken to the provincial and federal apex committees.

During the meeting, officials presented reports on the previous month’s operations and departmental performance.

DC Sarah Javed urged all officers to remain in close coordination with the district administration, keep their mobile phones active, and respond swiftly to misinformation or propaganda to prevent panic and confusion.

She also emphasized strict implementation of provincial apex committee directives, acceleration of operations against law violations, and legal action against hoarders of essential commodities and drug traffickers.

The meeting was attended by all Assistant Commissioners, Customs Officer Ali Gohar, Additional Director Social Welfare Muslim Farooq, DSP Sanghar Zakaria, Additional Director Labour Ahmaduddin, Assistant Director Women Development Sajjad Sadar, Deputy Director Agriculture Ghulam Qadir Mangrio, Chairman Zakat & Ushr Committee Zulfiqar Chandio, Deputy Director Child Protection Authority Tariq Rahim Lakho, and other committee members.
