Protest Rally Held in Tando Adam Against Canal Construction from Indus River

Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) A protest rally was organized by the Youth Baloch Alliance in Tando Adam against the alleged encroachment on the Indus River and the construction of six new canals. The rally, led by Alhdad Mari, Zaheer Rind, Shoaib Katiyar, Shahzaib Mengal, Syed Bilawal Shah, and Irfan Hajano, began from Muhammadi Chowk and concluded at the local Press Club.

Protesters carried banners and placards inscribed with slogans condemning the diversion of Indus waters. Addressing the gathering in front of the Press Club, the leaders stated that the extraction of new canals from the Indus River is not only depriving Sindh of its rightful water share but is also affecting Balochistan. They termed the move a grave injustice to both provinces.

The protest leaders emphasized that any interference in water distribution would have a detrimental impact on agriculture, the environment, and local communities. They demanded the immediate halt of the new canal projects and called for fair and equitable distribution of water resources.

The speakers warned that if their demands were not met, the scope of the protest would be expanded across the region.
