Man Sentenced to Two Years in Harassment, Threats Case in Tando Adam
Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) A local court in Tando Adam has sentenced a man to two years’ imprisonment and imposed a fine after finding him guilty of harassing and threatening a woman who had refused to marry him.
Judicial Magistrate-I Waqas Ahmed Qureshi awarded the sentence to the accused, Asad, son of Asghar Mughal, a resident of Shahpur Chakar. The court held him guilty of entering the complainant’s house, harassing her, and issuing life threats after she declined his marriage proposal.
According to the prosecution, the complainant, Laiba, daughter of Shabbir Mughal, had registered a case against the accused at the City police station on June 18, 2024, under sections 509, 506/2, and 452 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The accused was previously on bail during the trial.
Following the verdict, the convict was taken into custody from the courtroom and later shifted to the District Jail Sanghar.
The prosecution was conducted by public prosecutor Tariq Aziz Ghouri.
