Literary Gathering Held in Tando Adam to Honour Poet Khalid Irfan

Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) A grand mushaira was organised by Halqa-e-Farogh-e-Adab, Tando Adam, in honour of internationally acclaimed poet Khalid Irfan, drawing prominent Urdu and Sindhi poets from across Sindh along with a large number of literary enthusiasts.

The event was presided over by renowned poet Prof Attique Ahmed Jilani, while Ghulam Murtaza Junejo, Chairman of the Municipal Committee, Tando Adam, was the chief guest. Among other distinguished guests were Prof Yaad Hussain Sheikh, Principal, Government New Aligarh College Tando Adam, Sarmad Sultan (Wapda Revenue), Rana Mukhtar Rajput, President Press Club Tando Adam; Ashiq Hussain Saand, General Secretary Press Club Tando Adam; advocate Najeebullah Jadoon, social activist Faheem Commando, and Dr Waheed Sheikh.

The programme began with a recitation from the Holy Quran. Faisal Ghafoor Ansari delivered the welcome address, while introductory remarks were presented by Kamran Ishrat. Founder and chairman of Halqa-e-Farogh-e-Adab Tando Adam, Murtaza Chishti, thanked the guests, poets and participants for their presence.

Poets who presented their work included Khalid Irfan (guest of honour), Akhtar Saeedi, Muhammad Ali Gohar, Rafiq Sagar, Noor Chakrani, Nadeem Khawar, Murtaza Chishti, Kamran Ishrat, Naveed Surosh, Zaheeruddin Shams, Majeed Amber, Rasheed Saarib, Gul Hassan Gul, Habib-ur-Rehman Chohan, Taqi Rajput, Aftab Sahil, Syed Abdul Hadi, Hafiz Habibullah Tabeeb, Zeeshan Usmani, Noreen Fayaz, Faisal Ghafoor Ansari, Bilal Ghori, Salar Shah Mahwar and Shaban Qureshi.

Special prayers were offered for the early recovery of poet Mazhar Hani. Khalid Irfan enthralled the audience with his satirical and humorous poetry, receiving warm applause from a packed hall. The event concluded in a vibrant literary atmosphere.
