Wheat and Flour Crisis: This is Not Incompetence, It is an Open War Against the People Dr. Younus Danish
Dr. Younus Danish, spokesperson for Jamiat Ulama-e-Pakistan and Milli Yakjehti Council, has stated that the ongoing wheat crisis and continuous rise in flour prices in the country are no longer the result of administrative errors or accidental circumstances. Instead, it has taken the form of a deliberate economic injustice and an open war against the people. The question is: how long will the poor continue to be humiliated and deprived of two meals a day?
He said that the same drama is repeated every year. First, an artificial shortage of wheat is created, then flour prices are increased, and in the end, the bureaucrats and hoarding mafia earn billions while the government remains a mere spectator. This is not incompetence—it is criminal negligence and collusion, for which the people are paying the price with their hunger.
He added that farmers are not given full compensation for their hard work, while citizens are forced to buy the most expensive flour. The only beneficiaries are those who, under the protection of government officials, hoard warehouses, manipulate supply, and create artificial crises to exploit the nation.
Dr. Danish directly questioned the government, asking why existing laws are not being enforced. If the administration is powerless, then who gave them the right to govern? And if everything is known but still ignored, this amounts to open hostility toward the people.
In clear terms, he said that mere meetings, committees, and statements are equivalent to sprinkling salt on the wounds of the people. The time has come to take indiscriminate action against the hoarding mafia, remove the responsible officials from their positions, and immediately bring wheat and flour prices within the reach of the people.
Finally, Dr. Younus Danish warned that if the government fails to take immediate and decisive action, public unrest may escalate, for which the full responsibility will lie with the rulers and relevant institutions. The nation is no longer willing to endure hunger, inflation, and mere showmanship.
