Sindh Food Authority Shuts Down Three Substandard RO Plants in Sanghar, Tando Adam, and Jhol
Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) The Sindh Food Authority (SFA) conducted operations in Tando Adam and Jhol, sealing three RO plants for severe violations of food safety regulations.
During inspections in Sanghar, Tando Adam, and Jhol, it was revealed that the filters of the plants were completely blackened, vessels were leaking, and water quality tests recorded a TDS of 94 and a pH of 7.8. Additionally, the plants lacked proper waste management systems and failed to adhere to SFA-recommended SOPs. Medical reports for the staff were also not provided.
As a result, the production of the three RO plants has been temporarily suspended, and fines have been imposed.
According to an SFA spokesperson, the authority is actively cracking down on substandard RO plants and food adulteration mafia across Sindh to ensure the provision of safe and quality food to the public. The campaign spans all major and minor cities of the province.
