Strict Action Ordered Against Electricity Theft in Sanghar

Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) Deputy Commissioner Sanghar, Dr. Imran-ul-Hassan Khawaja, has directed strict measures to combat electricity theft across the district. He emphasized ensuring the prevention of electricity theft and the payment of electricity bills in Sanghar city and surrounding areas. He warned that those involved, including officials, would face legal action if found guilty.

Chairing a meeting of the District Enforcement Committee for Anti-Theft Electricity at his office, Dr. Imran-ul-Hassan Khawaja instructed the authorities to identify individuals interfering in WAPDA's operations and register FIRs against them.

The Deputy Commissioner expressed concern over the high number of electricity theft complaints compared to the low number of registered FIRs. He stressed the need for immediate action to address complaints and take legal action against those involved in electricity theft.

He further stated that the federal government is taking serious steps to curb electricity theft, and assistant commissioners in each tehsil of the district have also been directed to take necessary actions against it.
