Sanghar Deputy Commissioner Chairs District Polio Eradication Committee Meeting
Sanghar(Hasnain Ashiq Saand) A key meeting of the District Polio Eradication Committee was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Sanghar, Sarah Javed. The meeting focused on preparations for the upcoming polio campaign scheduled from February 2 to February 5, 2026.
District Health Officer Dr Daulat Jamali briefed the participants on training of vaccination teams, monitoring arrangements, and other measures to ensure the smooth execution of the campaign. Emphasizing strict adherence to micro-plans, the Deputy Commissioner directed health, police, education, local government officials, and representatives from the World Health Organization to remain present in the field throughout the campaign to ensure that all children under five years of age receive polio drops and are protected from lifelong disabilities.
Sarah Javed also stressed the importance of parental awareness, enhanced monitoring of vaccination teams, and improving coverage through strengthened inter-departmental coordination. She instructed all Assistant Commissioners to supervise the campaign rigorously.
Appealing directly to parents, the Deputy Commissioner urged full cooperation with the polio teams, highlighting that the complete eradication of polio is a shared responsibility. She assured that the district administration would provide full support to ensure the success of this national campaign.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Abdul Majeed Zehrani, all Assistant Commissioners, Civil Surgeon Dr Aftab Azam Sariwal, WHO representative Dr Bilal, UNICEF representatives Aftab Ahmed and Dr Farooq, EPI Focal Person Dr Murtaza Siyal, N-Stop Dr Deedar, and other senior officials.
