Indian Woman Marries 25 Men in 7 Months, Robs Them – Finally Arrested
In a shocking case from India, a 23-year-old woman has been arrested for marrying 25 men across different states in just seven months—and robbing each of them before disappearing.
According to Indian media reports, police in Bhopal apprehended Anuradha Paswan, who allegedly posed as a bride to con unsuspecting men out of their valuables. Due to her pattern of behavior, authorities have dubbed her the “Loot-and-Scoot Bride.”
The case came to light when Vishnu Sharma, a resident of Sawai Madhopur, filed a complaint. He claimed that a marriage agent took ₹200,000 (approx. $2,400) to arrange a court marriage with Anuradha on April 20. But by May 2, she had vanished—along with all the jewelry, cash, and electronic items from his home.
Police revealed that Anuradha used valid documents to solemnize marriages, stayed with her "husbands" for a few days, and then escaped with their belongings, usually in the dead of night. Notably, after marrying Vishnu Sharma, she quickly went on to marry another man in Bhopal.
Further investigations uncovered that Anuradha had previously worked at a hospital in Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh. Following domestic disputes with her actual husband, she moved to Bhopal, where she allegedly became involved with a criminal network. This gang operated through local agents who would share photos of potential brides on WhatsApp and charge clients between ₹200,000 and ₹500,000 to arrange marriages.
