"Pakistan Prefers Peace, But Is Always Ready to Defend Itself"؛ DG ISPR

Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, stated that while Pakistan prioritizes peace, it remains fully prepared to respond if war is imposed.

In an interview with an international media outlet, he emphasized that a nuclear conflict between Pakistan and India would be highly irrational, as it could lead to mutual destruction. He said the idea of nuclear war is foolish and must be avoided at all costs.

Lieutenant General Chaudhry reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability, noting that the country has acted with maturity in recent situations to de-escalate tensions. He added that if there is credible evidence of Pakistan’s involvement in any act of terrorism, it should be presented, and Pakistan will take appropriate action itself.

He also criticized India for promoting baseless narratives to mislead the international community, adding that the world has increasingly recognized the falsehood of such claims.

Concluding his remarks, he said that Pakistan values the peace it currently enjoys, but it remains vigilant and ready to defend its sovereignty at all times.
