Waqar Mehdi Elected Senator from Sindh
Karachi (Web Desk) – Pakistan Peoples Party's Sindh General Secretary and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister, Waqar Mehdi, has been elected as Senator on the vacant provincial seat from Sindh.
Sindh Election Commissioner Ejaz Anwar Chohan announced the election results, according to which Waqar Mehdi secured victory with 111 votes, while MQM-Pakistan's candidate Nighat Mirza received 36 votes.
The Election Commissioner also stated that two votes were rejected due to incorrect marking.
It is worth mentioning that this seat had become vacant following the demise of PPP Senator Taj Haider. Waqar Mehdi has previously served as a member of the Senate as well.
