India's Water Blockade is a Crime Against Humanity, Pakistan Will Defend the Indus: Bilawal Bhutto

Islamabad (Web Desk) – Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party and former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stated that India's suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty is not a punishment for Pakistan but a crime against humanity. He emphasized that the Indus River flows not only through the land but also through the veins of the nation.

Addressing the National Assembly on Indian allegations, border tensions, and water diversion actions, Bilawal said India’s moves are crimes against nature, and using rivers as political weapons is a crime against humanity.

The PPP Chairman declared that the Indus River is not bound by Indian commands, but by the laws of nature. This river is a symbol of peace and belongs to all people who benefit from it.

He added that Pakistan has been a victim of terrorism—our soldiers and school children have been martyred—and made it clear to the world that Pakistan has no involvement in the Pahalgam incident.

Bilawal stated that while rivers can be diverted, our resolve and determination cannot be dried up. Every drop of the Indus River contains the hope of Pakistani farmers, the sweat of laborers, and the blessings of God.

During his speech, he referenced Mohenjo-Daro, Harappa, and the Indus Valley Civilization, saying the river is not just a natural stream but a symbol of a civilization thousands of years old—one that unites, not divides.

He firmly stated that no one should be mistaken into thinking our silence is a weakness. Pakistan’s armed forces are alert, determined, and ready. Our skies are secure, our borders strong, and the nation is united from Karachi to Khyber and Lahore to Larkana.

He further noted that the people of both Pakistan and India are rooted in the Indus civilization—the cradle of human development, which pioneered urban planning, irrigation, agriculture, trade, and communication.

The former Foreign Minister concluded that to eliminate terrorism, Pakistan and India must fight together; otherwise, future generations will continue to suffer from the curse of terrorism.
