Polio Eradication Campaign Preparations Reviewed in Sanghar
Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) A key meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Sanghar, Dr. Imran-ul-Hassan Khawaja, to review the arrangements for the upcoming anti-polio campaign set to begin on February 3, 2025. The meeting focused on strategies to ensure the campaign’s success and addressed various logistical concerns.
Health department officials briefed the attendees on the preparations made for the campaign. Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Khawaja emphasized the crucial role of Union Council Medical Officers (UCMOs) and Area Incharges in executing the campaign effectively. He highlighted the success of the previous two anti-polio drives in the district and urged parents to cooperate with polio workers by ensuring that all children under five receive the essential two drops of the polio vaccine.
With rising temperatures, the Deputy Commissioner also stressed the importance of maintaining the vaccine's cold chain to preserve its effectiveness.
The meeting was attended by all Assistant Commissioners, Chairman Town Committee Jhol Rana Rashid, officials from the health department, Area Incharges, UCMOs, and other relevant officers.
