Two suspected inter-district robbers injured, arrested in Tando Adam police encounter

Two suspected members of an inter-district robbery gang were injured and arrested during a police encounter in Tando Adam, while two of their accomplices managed to escape, police said on Tuesday.
According to a spokesperson for the Sanghar district police, the encounter took place when Tando Adam SHO Muhammad Hanif Mehr, along with his team, was on routine patrol and spotted four armed men in suspicious circumstances, allegedly preparing to commit a crime. When the police attempted to intercept them, the suspects opened fire, prompting retaliatory action by the police.
Following the exchange of fire, two suspects identified as Azeem Ali, son of Gul Muhammad Samoo and Faizan Ali, also known as Fayaz Ali Bagrani, were apprehended in an injured condition. Police said two TT pistols were recovered from their possession.
The police spokesperson said the arrested men were affiliated with an inter-district robber gang. Their two accomplices, identified as Taj Muhammad Chang and Haji Deedar Ali Bhand, escaped from the scene and are currently at large. Police teams have been formed and raids are being conducted at various locations to arrest the absconders.
Police further stated that Azeem Ali has a criminal record involving dozens of cases registered at different police stations, including charges related to robbery, encounters with police, illegal possession of weapons and other serious offences. Faizan Ali also faces multiple cases currently under trial.
The injured suspects were shifted to a hospital for medical treatment and later handed over to the relevant police station for legal proceedings. A search operation is under way to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
