Mia Sara Returns to the Big Screen After Nearly 15 Years

Mia Sara, best known for her role as Sloane Peterson in the 1986 classic Ferris Bueller's Day Off, made a rare red carpet appearance in Los Angeles for the premiere of her first film in over a decade. The actress, now 57, stars in The Life of Chuck, a Stephen King adaptation directed by Mike Flanagan and also starring Tom Hiddleston, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mark Hamill, Kate Siegel, and others. Her last major film appearance was in 2011's Dorothy and the Witches of Oz. Sara credits her return to the screen to her admiration for Flanagan and Siegel’s work on the 2021 Netflix series Midnight Mass. In The Life of Chuck, premiering in select theaters on June 6 and expanding nationwide June 13, Sara plays Sarah Krantz, the grandmother of the lead character Charles Krantz, portrayed by Hiddleston. Sara lives in England with her husband Brian Henson and enjoys riding horses, crime fiction, and cooking. While she remains uncertain about further acting projects, she expressed willingness to work again with Flanagan if the opportunity arises.
