Action Taken Against Illegal Deduction from BISP Beneficiaries' Stipends in Sanghar
Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) In a decisive move to ensure transparency and protect the rights of deserving women, a case has been registered against an agent accused of unlawfully deducting amounts ranging from Rs. 500 to Rs. 1,000 from the quarterly stipends distributed under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).
The quarterly installment for October to December 2024, amounting to Rs. 10,500 per beneficiary, is currently being disbursed through BISP-established camp sites across Sanghar district. The process is being conducted with a focus on transparency to ensure that the stipends reach eligible women without any irregularities.
At the payment center set up at Government Boys High School, Sinjhoro, complaints were received about unauthorized deductions by an agent. Acting promptly, BISP Assistant Director Ayaz Ali Mahesar resolved the issue by ensuring the recovery of the deducted amounts. Subsequently, a case was registered against the accused, Muhammad Azeem Arain, owner of Azeem Mobile Shop, at the Sinjhoro police station.
This action underscores BISP's commitment to safeguarding the rights of beneficiaries and maintaining accountability in the disbursement process. It also serves as a stern warning against any fraudulent practices during the program's implementation.
