Arts council of Pakistan Karachi presents Comedy Drama "Guddi Hateli" on the Sixth Day of 21-Day "Awami Theater Festival"


Karachi: On the sixth day of the 21-day "Awami Theater Festival" organized by Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, the Urdu comedy-drama "Guddi Hateli" was staged. The play was written and directed by Muhammad Tasneem Rana, with significant contributions from Umar Danish, Shoaib Hokla, and Sadiq Patel. The cast included Shanzy, Idrees Kamal, Sapna Ghazal, Aamir Rambo, Zainab, Faiza Malik, Aneeka, Shan Mehdi, Pyare Mansoor, Talha Bujhani, Shamir Rahi, Zohaib (Chintu), and others. The play attracted a large audience, filling the hall with enthusiastic viewers. Guddi Hateli tells the story of a poor neighbourhood where residents often engage in conflicts. The plot revolves around a girl named Guddi, whom the locals call "Guddi Hateli." The drama highlights the consequences of parental neglect, showing how children, lacking guidance, may turn towards harmful habits or even substance abuse. Guddi, a character who survives by pickpocketing, takes it upon herself to care for these neglected children. She dreams of a brighter future for them, hoping they grow up to become respected members of society, such as doctors or engineers. At its core, Guddi Hateli serves as a lesson to parents, reminding them of their responsibilities. The storyline emphasizes that parental negligence can lead children astray. The audience resonated with the play’s message, applauding the actors and appreciating the heartfelt performances.
