Action Against Overcharging in Public Transpor, Imposes Fines


Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) Acting on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Imran-ul-Hassan Khawaja, Assistant Commissioner Sanghar Shafiq Ahmed Arisar launched a crackdown on overcharging in public transport. The operation resulted in fines totaling Rs. 38,000 being imposed on several buses and vans for charging excessive fares.


During the action, the Assistant Commissioner inspected multiple vehicles on the spot, responding to complaints from passengers. Instances of illegal fare collection were identified, and immediate measures were taken to stop the practice. Transport owners were strictly instructed to adhere to the government-approved fare rates and ensure the provision of adequate facilities to passengers.


Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Commissioner Shafiq Ahmed Arisar emphasized that providing relief to the public remains a top priority. He reiterated that strict action would continue against those exploiting passengers by overcharging.


The Assistant Commissioner also urged the public to report any violations or complaints to the relevant authorities for prompt resolution. Other officials accompanied him during the inspection.
