We will resist political decisions against karoonjhar mountain: poets and writers

Speaking publicly in this regard, Noor Chakarani, Secretary General of Sindhi Literary Society, said that Karunjahr is not a dish that can be eaten on a plate. By strongly protesting against the damage to small mountains and hills, because Karunjahr is not just the name of a mountain, it is the name of a beautiful chain. We will decide on another course of action including protest in the institution. Renowned intellectual Professor Mushtaq Mirani said that Karunjahr is dear to the people of Sindh. He said that everything is at stake in Sindh, be it Karunjahr or lands. An institution like SIFC has been created to steal the properties of national unity, which is a violation of the constitution. The constitutional forum is only a council of common interests, but SIFC is a body that can hold the property of any province. He said that if the Sindh government does not back down from its intentions and the matter reaches the Supreme Court, then Sindh's recognized parties should become parties to the case and present Sindh's case. Renowned intellectual Naseer Memon has said that Karunjahr is a very sensitive place in terms of environment and cultural and historical national heritage. There is no such thing as a study. He said that decisions should not be made on the basis of demand and politics in relation to a sensitive place like Karunjahr, no development can be done on such sensitive places on orders from Islamabad. A detailed study should be done by a reputable consulting firm. The firm should include people with expertise in studying sensitive areas such as cultural, environmental and social nature. Not only Nangar Parker but the people of Sindh will not tolerate it.
