Assistive devices distributed among persons with disabilities in Sanghar on International Assistive Devices Day

SANGHAR(Hasnain Ashiq Saand) A special event was held in Sanghar to mark International Assistive Devices Day, where assistive equipment was distributed among persons with disabilities as part of efforts to promote inclusion, accessibility and empowerment.


The ceremony was organised jointly by the Sustainable Development Foundation, Dua Organisation, and the Sindh government’s Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD) at a private hall in Sanghar. A large number of persons with disabilities attended the event.


During the distribution ceremony, tricycles, wheelchairs, walking sticks and hearing aids were provided to eligible beneficiaries to support their mobility and improve their quality of life.


The event was attended by Pakistan Peoples Party Sanghar taluka president Ejaz Hussain Zardari, Principal Special Education School Sanghar Barkat Ali Mari, and several social and educational figures including Ghulam Nabi Nizamani, Abdul Jabbar Junejo, Sajid Sadozai, Shakeela Mughal, and Razia Damra.


Speaking on the occasion, speakers highlighted that persons with disabilities are an integral part of society and stressed the need to ensure equal opportunities in education, employment and social participation. They said the provision of assistive devices would help improve independence and ease daily life for beneficiaries.


The ceremony concluded with a commitment by organisers and participants to continue such initiatives aimed at rehabilitation, welfare and greater inclusion of persons with disabilities in society.
