Allegations of Discrimination Emerge at Government Girls Degree College Tando Adam

Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) Serious allegations of discrimination have surfaced at the Government Girls Degree College, Tando Adam, where several students have accused a female lecturer of biased behaviour based on linguistic and communal differences.

According to reports, students have alleged that Shaista Bajwa, a lecturer at the college, displayed discriminatory behaviour during academic sessions, including purportedly singling out certain students for humiliation, forcing them to stand outside the classroom, and deliberately failing them in examinations.

Sources claim that during practical exams, the lecturer allegedly misused her authority by deducting marks of specific students without justification, resulting in academic setbacks for several of them.

Parents of the affected students said they have lodged both verbal and written complaints with the college administration, but no action has been taken so far. They demanded an impartial investigation into the matter, stating that any form of discrimination on linguistic or community grounds within an educational institution is unacceptable.

According to college sources, the issue has been brought to the attention of higher education authorities. Meanwhile, social organizations and parents have appealed to the Chief Minister of Sindh, the Minister for Education, and the Secretary for College Education to ensure a transparent inquiry and take appropriate disciplinary action if the allegations are proven true, to safeguard the integrity of the academic environment.
